Site Details
A 20-hectare site containing one of the last remaining areas of grazing marsh in Greater London, and the largest reedbed in Bexley. Other habitats include a network of ditches and open water, scrub and rough grassland. The site is situated adjacent to the tidal River Thames, which offers productive estuarine birding outside the mid-summer months - particularly around the incinerator outfall.

Directions
From the Norman Road/Eastern Way junction (c.TQ496799), follow the path across the stiles. From Thamesview Golf Centre, walk east along the Thames Pathway for 1.3km beyond the incinerator outfall to the north side of the reserve.Access
Most of the site is open to public access, but the most sensitive area for wildlife is contained within a protected area that is accessible to permit holders only via membership of the 'Friends of Crossness Nature Reserve Scheme'. The River Thames can be viewed easily from the Thames Path, which runs along the south bank between the river and the nature reserve.Parking
