A Raven was taken into care in Cheshire after being 'peppered' with shot.

The bird was taken in for veterinary treatment at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' (RSPCA) Stapeley Grange centre at the end of March.

Stapeley Grange is the busiest of the RSPCA's four dedicated wildlife-rehabilitation facilities.

X-ray images revealed at least five pieces of shot in the Raven's body. RSPCA staff said the bird was "at least lively and feeding well".

The Raven was feeding well in care despite having several pieces of shot lodged in its body (RSPCA).
