Site Details
Oxbow lake carved out of water meadows during building of A4/A46 Batheaston bypass in mid-1990s. Some exposed mud areas, some new pools and small areas of reed created in recent years and sheep introduced to stop grass-like plants and woodland taking over. Attracts small numbers of waders on passage and some species remain to breed.

Just off the A4 eastbound from Bath. Turn left into Batheaston village at the junction of the A4/A363 and view from the garage on the left hand side near the village centre.Access
At the moment access is restricted but the lake and some of the habitat can be viewed from the forecourt of the old FINA garage in Batheaston. Contact Avon Wildlife Trust for further details (there is a hide on the reserve itself)Parking
