Site Details
A huge broad, with a number of areas to watch birds from, and there are a number of hides in the area:
Stubb Mill TG437220 should only be approached by walking along the road from the visitor centre car park. In winter, the vantage point at Stubb Mill is excellent for watching Common Cranes coming into roost, as well as good numbers of raptors, such as Hen Harriers, Marsh Harriers and Merlin.
Rush Hill TG423209 attracts a number of passage birds to the scrape, particularly waders but can only be accessed by boat.
The Weavers Way and White Slea can be good areas from which to listen for the subtle song of Savi's Warblers.
During the summer months Swallowtail butterflies can frequently be seen along the trails.
